The First Rain is my hope, optimism, and a little bit of my pain from months of living with the weight of COVID in the world.

The First Rain is a short, energetic piece well suited for opening or closing a program. The electronic track creates a boundless energy and sense of optimism that pairs with the naturally bright sound of the flute. The piece is challenging, but very attainable by undergraduate performers.
